Refuting IO Israel Only Preterism by: Thracia Gharst

I am not refuting Preterism only the IO doctrine. Galatians 3:28 Sons Through Faith in Christ …27For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.…

We all came from Adam. Abraham and Sarah were Gentiles from Ur. Which was a Gentile city. God promised Abraham that he would make him a Father of many nations (GOY GENTILES) Making the Israelites Gentiles. What made them special was not their race, but the faith, relationship, covenant God had with them. God fulfilled all the land promise to Israel. Abraham was a Gentile. God called him from among the pagan nations. Joshua referred to this in his farewell to the people of Israel.

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. – Joshua 24:15

In the New Testament, Paul makes the point that all who believe (trust) God are the children of Abraham, whether they are circumcised or not.

[Abraham] received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them. And he is also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised. – Romans 4:11-12 (see the surrounding discussion as well)

All who trust God for their salvation today are also children of Abraham because they share his faith in God.

Israels land promises

Did you know that the Bible tells us that the land which was promised to Abraham has already been possessed and FULFILLED! And the LORD gave unto ISRAEL ALL the LAND which he SWEAR to give unto their fathers; and they POSSESSED IT and DWELT therein. And the LORD gave them REST round about, according to all that he SWEAR unto their fathers: and there stood NOT A MAN of all their ENEMIES before them; the LORD delivered ALL their ENEMIES into their hand. There FAILED NOT ought of ANY GOOD THING which the LORD had spoken unto the house of ISRAEL; ALL CAME TO PASS. (Joshua 21:43-45)

What does the BIBLE say that The LORD gave to Israel? He gave them ALL the land, and they POSSESSED it! None stood before Israel! The LORD delivered ALL enemies into their hand! The Bible (scriptures) tells us that Joshua took the WHOLE land (not just part of it).

So Joshua took the WHOLE LAND, according to all that the LORD said unto MOSES; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto ISRAEL according to their divisions by their tribes. And the LAND rested from war. (Joshua 11:23)

Joshua took what? = the WHOLE LAND!

Then the LAND rested from WAR!

There you have it from GOD’S WORD!

Will YOU believe the WORD of GOD, or the words of mere men?

Abraham was truly looking for a CITY which was ETERNAL!

By FAITH Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By FAITH he sojourned in the LAND of PROMISE, as in a STRANGE COUNTRY, dwelling in tabernacles with ISAAC and JACOB, the heirs with him of the same PROMISE: For he LOOKED for a CITY which hath foundations, whose BUILDER and MAKER is GOD. Through FAITH also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the STARS of the sky in multitude, and as the SAND which is by the sea shore innumerable. (Hebrews 11:8-12)

Abraham felt like a STRANGER down here in this world

Abraham desired a city ABOVE built by GOD ALMIGHTY!

There has always been ONE people of God = NOT TWO!

FAITHFUL believers were seeking a HEAVENLY country

These all died in FAITH, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were PERSUADED of them, and EMBRACED them, and confessed that they were STRANGERS and PILGRIMS on the EARTH. For they that SAY SUCH THINGS declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had OPPORTUNITY to have RETURNED. But now they desire a BETTER COUNTRY, that is,

an HEAVENLY: wherefore GOD is not ashamed to be called their GOD: for he hath PREPARED for them A CITY. (Hebrews 11:13-16)

TRUE FAITH brought them into HEAVEN

TRUE FAITH will bring YOU into HEAVEN!

This earth is TEMPORARY but HEAVEN above is ETERNAL!

They desired a HEAVENLY country = Do You?

But ye are come unto mount Sion [ZION], and unto the CITY OF THE LIVING GOD, the HEAVENLY JERUSALEM, and to an innumerable company of ANGELS, To the general assembly and CHURCH OF THE FIRSTBORN, which are WRITTEN IN HEAVEN, and to GOD the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, (Hebrews 12:22-23)

YOU must be BORN AGAIN!

If YOU desire to be in HEAVEN for ETERNITY,

Then YOU must be born again!

Abraham: A Father Of Many Nations. This article here goes good with what I wrote above it was written by Thomas Burke

And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. (Genesis 17:3-4)

God promised Abraham that he would be the father of “many nations.” “Nations” is the Hebrew word “Goy.” Strong’s Concordance defines “Goy” as a “foreign nation; hence a Gentile, heathen, nation, people” (H1471). This same promise came to pass in the New Testament (See Romans 4:11-18; Galatians 3:28-29). There it is said to include Jews, Samaritans, and Gentiles. This is what Jesus’ sealing of the vision and the prophecy did (See Daniel 9:24); it allowed access to the Kingdom of God for the Jews (See Acts 2), the Samaritans (See Acts 8), and the Gentiles (See Acts 10). Jesus referred to these ‘Goy’ in Matthew 28:19. There He said to teach and baptize “all ‘NATIONS.'” In this verse the word “nations” is “ethnos,” which, like ‘goy,’ is similarly defined as: “A race (as of the same habit), that is, a tribe; specifically a foreign (non-Jewish) one (usually by implication pagan): – Gentile, heathen, nation, people” (Strong’s G1484). Jesus was literally removing racism by using this term because, after the cross, all peoples were the same race in God’s eyes (See Colossians 3:11), and all suffered the same problem of sin (See Romans 11:32). To remedy this sin, Jesus gave every man and woman the same opportunity to receive salvation through His New Covenant (See Romans 1:16). The promise of a coming savior predated sin (See Revelation 13:8; Ephesians 1:4; Titus 1:2; 1 Peter 1:19-20), and was the first promise God made after sin was introduced into the world (See Genesis 3:15). This same promise was sustained through Abraham when God promised him that he would be known as the father of “many nations” (See Genesis 17:4). Then in the New Testament this Old Testament promise touched this promise through the hands of a priest named Simeon (See Luke 2:32). At eight days old, Jesus was brought to the Temple for circumcision. The priest that held Him was Simeon. He took Jesus into his hands and prophesied that Jesus would be “a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel” (Luke 2:32). Years later Jesus amen’d this calling when He said, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for ‘all the nations’” (Mark 11:17). The New Covenant message of Jesus Christ is open to all people regardless of their race, color, financial class, or gender. Any and all willing to be Born Again into Jesus receives the same salvation and eternal life (See Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:11; Acts 2:38-39).

Such non-exclusivity is a fulfillment of God’s promise to make Abraham a “father of ‘many nations.’” Not that Abraham was to be a ‘father’ of descendants from assorted countries, but rather a ‘father’ of many people spiritually connected, by faith, to his same God (See Galatians 3:7-29; Romans 4:16-21, Romans 9:7-8).

I you really want a good one on refuting IO read this- Restoration of Israel (Lost Tribes)

The Bible is the story of the RISE, FALL and RESTORATION of Israel. At first, Israel was a united kingdom of 12 Tribes. But during Israel’s fall, 9 of the 12 Tribes were cast out of the Promised Land by God, scattered throughout the gentile world and seemingly lost forever. However the Prophets foretold that one day, a great Savior would come and find the descendants of the Lost Tribes and reunite them with the 3 Tribes who had remained in the Promised Land (the Jews).

Now while Christians may know about the promised Savior, most know very little about the promised return of the Lost Tribes. Moreover, what they do know is often based on speculative theories and or stem from sources outside the Bible. For example, some speculate the Lost Tribes are hidden in remote places around the world and will suddenly emerge in the end time. The Book of Mormon documents that the lost tribes traveled to the Americas and became the American Indians. Another group teaches they migrated into Europe and formed the base of the European nations (German, British, etc…). Yet another group believes the tribes became the black race who will one day defeat the evil white race and rule the world. Contrarily, the Jews believe the lost tribes were absorbed into the Kingdom of Judah (the Jews) long ago. Finally, there are those who give no physical account for the Lost Tribes but hold that the promises were only metaphoric to be interpreted in a spiritual sense only. But all this speculation is completely unnecessary as the Bible fully documents the account of the return of the lost tribes. Most miss it simply because they do not really know the Scriptures well enough. But as you will see, the full account of the return of the Lost Tribes is there. But first some back ground is needed.

The Fall of Israel and Promise of Restoration

God separated Israel from the other nations and promised that they would become a Holy nation which would bless the whole world. But instead, Israel only became utterly sinful and hopelessly broken. However the Prophets foretold that one day God would “Restore” Israel in such a way that they could finally become the Holy Nation promised to bless the world. The Bible tells the full story of the fall and the promised Restoration of Israel.

God had offered Israel a Covenant (contract) through which He promised to be their God and give them a beautiful land if they promised to be His Holy people by keeping His Laws. Israel accepted the proposal and became God’s people. And under God’s rule, Israel soon became a great nation. But later, Israel rejected God’s rule and chose a man king to rule them instead. Israel’s man-king sinned against God, so God took the kingdom away from him and divided Israel into two kingdoms: the Kingdom of Israel which retained 10 tribes, and the Kingdom of Judah (the Jews) which retained 2 tribes. Both kingdoms had a series of wicked kings who caused their people to fall into sin. But because the Kingdom of Israel was especially wicked, the Prophets declared that God would soon destroy them. The Prophet Hosea described how the people of the Kingdom of Israel would be cast out of the Promised Land and scattered all over the Gentile world where God said they would become “NOT My people”. Only the Kingdom of Judah (the Jews) would remain in the Promised Land as God’s people. However Hosea also prophesied of a latter day when God would “redeem” (buy back) the lost tribes of Israel and reunite them with the tribes of Judah and once again say to them “you are My people”.

The prophet Ezekiel also foretold of this great Restoration. He described how God himself would come as a “Good Shepherd” to seek and save the scattered sheep (lost Tribes). Ezekiel told of how the Good Shepherd would make a New and Everlasting Covenant with Israel and give them a “New Spirit” which would cause them to become holy in heart. Moreover, the Good Shepherd would reunite the tribes of Israel with the tribes of Judah to become their Shepherd-King forevermore! Eze 34-37

Fulfillment of the Restoration of Israel

In John 10:14, Jesus proclaimed that He was the “Good Shepherd” promised to come and make the two folds of Israel “one flock” again. Jesus made the New and Everlasting Covenant and gave the promised New Spirit. So where were the lost Tribes??? Well, the Lost Tribes did indeed return—and the Restoration of Israel was fulfilled. But in a way far greater than anyone could have imagined.

The Book of Acts describes how and when the Disciples first came to realize the restoration of Israel was being fulfilled. Acts described how the promised New Spirit was first poured out on Judah (the Jews), and later on the Gentiles. But this caused problems as some Jews maintained that the promised salvation was for Israel alone. Therefore, they argued that the Gentiles must be converted into Israel through circumcision. But as they were debating this, the Apostle James suddenly received the revelation that the Gentiles who were receiving the Spirit and joining with them (Judah) were the descendants of the lost tribes. Indeed James explained that their coming in was fulfilling the “Restoration of David’s Fallen Tent”, a prophecy which could ONLY be fulfilled by the return of the lost tribes and their reunification with Judah.

“Brothers, listen to me. Simeon has related how God first visited the Gentiles, to take from them a people for his name. And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written, “‘After this I will return, and I will rebuild the tabernacle of David that has fallen; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will Restore it, that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who are called by my name, says the Lord, who makes these things known from of old.” Acts 15:13

IMPORTANT: The prophecy James quoted here could ONLY be fulfilled by the return of the lost tribes. But if someone does not know that prophecy, they would not understand what James was really saying here. Throughout the New Testament, the apostles would often quote a small portion of a prophecy expecting the hearer to already understand the entire prophecy. But because so many Christians today do not know the Old Testament very well, they do not know prophecies and thus, do not understand what the apostles were really saying. Thus, it is crucial to always read the entire prophecy quoted. Here is a larger portion of the prophecy James quoted from:

“Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are on the sinful kingdom (the Kingdom of Israel), and I will destroy it from the face of the earth; yet I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob,” says the Lord. For surely I will command, and I will sift the HOUSE OF ISRAEL among all nations, as grain is sifted in a sieve; yet not the smallest pebble shall fall to the ground. All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, who say, ‘the calamity shall not overtake nor confront us.’ “On that day (a later day) I will raise up the tabernacle of David which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the Gentiles who are called by My name,” says the Lord who does this thing. “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it. I will bring back the captives of my people Israel (lost Tribes)…” Amos 9:8

Like Hosea and Ezekiel, the Prophet Amos also foretold how God would banish the sinful Kingdom of Israel (not Judah) from the Promised Land. Likewise, Amos also prophesied of how God would restore the divided kingdom: “I will raise up the Tabernacle of David, which has fallen down and repair its damages…” Here Amos typified “David” as the last king of the united Israel and the foreshadow of the Savior King promised to repair the divided Kingdom. Amos further prophesied that as an outcome of the Restoration, Israel would “possess Gentiles who would be called by God’s name”. James proclaimed this prophecy was being fulfilled by the Gentiles who were coming into the Jewish Church. And indeed it was—for the lost Tribes had become Gentiles.

The Prophet Hosea had called the Kingdom of Israel “Jezreel” which means scattered and depicted them as seeds scattering and implanting amongst the Gentiles where God said they would become “not My people” (Gentiles). But Hosea also proclaimed that one day God would say to them “you are My people”. And indeed, through the promised Spirit, the descendants of the scattered Israelites arose from amongst the Gentiles and rejoined with Judah to once again be called God’s people. Thus, just as Amos foretold Israel “possessed Gentiles who were called by God’s name”.

The Prophet Isaiah also depicted Israel as scattered seeds implanting amongst the Gentiles—whose “offspring” or “descendants” would remain hidden (like dormant seeds) until God poured out His Spirit like water to revive them. Thereafter they would arise to once again “take the name Israel”:

“I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, ‘give them up!’ and to the south, ‘do not hold them back.’ bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth— everyone who is CALLED BY MY NAME whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”…“I will consign Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn. But now listen, o Jacob, my servant, Israel, whom I have chosen. This is what the lord says—he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: do not be afraid, o Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my spirit on your (Israel’s) OFFSPRING, and my blessing on your DESCENDANTS. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams. One will say, ‘I belong to the lord’; another will call himself by the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand, ‘the lord’s,’ AND WILL TAKE THE NAME ISRAEL…” Isaiah 43:5 – 44:5

Throughout the New Testament, the Apostles continued to quote prophecies to explain how the restoration of Israel was being fulfilled through the Gentiles. In Romans 9:25, Paul attributed the “not My People” / “are My People” prophecies of Hosea to the Spirit-filled Gentiles. Those prophecies were given to the people of the Kingdom of Israel—who became the lost Tribes. By attributing those prophecies to the Spirit-filled Gentiles, Paul was explaining that they were the promised descendants of the lost Tribes. In the Book of Galatians Chapter 4, Paul quoted from Isaiah declaring that the Gentiles were the children of the barren woman (Israel) who was foretold to “enlarge the place of her tent” because her “descendants” would be returning to her in great numbers, “spread abroad” and “possessing the nations”.

“Sing, O barren one, who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married,” says the LORD. “ENLARGE THE PLACE OF YOUR TENT, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left, and YOUR OFFSPRING WILL POSSESS THE NATIONS and will people the desolate cities.” Gal 4:27 / Isaiah 54

THE “MYSTERY” OF THE RESTORATION

God had promised Abraham that through his descendants the whole world would be blessed. Later, the Prophets foretold how that Great Gentile Blessing would come through the Great Restoration of Israel. Indeed, the Prophets would often prophesy of the Restoration of Israel and the Great Gentile Blessing synonymously—as though they were to take place at the same time. For example:

“And now the LORD says—he who formed me (Jesus) in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength—he says: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.” Isaiah 49:5

The Prophets prophesied of the Great Restoration of Israel and the Great Gentile Blessing at the same time—because they were to be the same event! They were the same event because the lost Tribes had become Gentiles whose seed has spread to “the ends of the earth”. Thus the promised salvation of Israel became a salvation for the whole world!

Now although the fulfillment of the return of the lost tribes through the Gentiles may seem clear, it was certainly not what the Jews were expecting. Indeed, over the centuries the Jews were quite perplexed as to how the lost tribes could possibly ever return. In fact, Paul often called this the great “mystery”.

“Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the MYSTERY hidden for long ages past, but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him…” Romans 16:25

“When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. This MYSTERY is that the GENTILES are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.” Eph 3:4

When the people of the Kingdom of Israel were first banished from the Promised Land, the Jews most likely anticipated their promised return. But after so much time with no sign of the lost tribes, their hopes turned from anticipation to dismay. Indeed, after hundreds of years the only inhabitants of Israel’s old territories were the foreigners who had been settled there by the successive ruling Empires. Surely it seemed impossible that they could ever return. But the Jews did not perceive the prophecies. Indeed, they did not perceive how when Israel became “not My people”, that they had become Gentiles; nor that their Gentile children would one day be the promised “descendants” who would return to God. But most importantly, the Jews seemed to have misperceived the prophecies which foretold how the lost tribes descendants would only “come to life” through the “New Spirit”. Instead the Jews only looked for them to return through the flesh. But through Jesus and His Holy Spirit, the great “mystery” has been solved and the Great Restoration of Israel / Great Gentile Blessing are fulfilled. Moreover, they continue to be fulfilled everyday as Jews and Gentiles come to Life and unite through the Holy Spirit to worship their Good Shepherd, King Jesus together and forever, Amen! So by sowing the Israelites amongst the Gentiles, the promised salvation of Israel became the salvation of the whole world—and through Israel the whole world has truly been blessed!

I have argued with IO's about the regathering. They like to remind me that it was Israel that was regathered. I like to remind them that the 10 tribes had intermingled with all the nations of the earth. Making them a gentile mixture. When god regathered Israel he would have regathered all the gentiles of the earth as well that were mixed in with the 10 tribes. If you want to argue It like he came only for physical descendants. They have also argued that no one was saved after 70 A.D. I let them know if you believe on Jesus ye are Abrahams seed an heirs according to the promise. ITold them that Jesus married his bride the church and they had children by faith. They made fun of me. I gave them a scripture. John 1:11-13 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. I told them my god was not impotent. They said after god came he closed The door to the wedding feast. I told him in the New Jerusalem church the doors are never closed. I reminded them also that the gospel is everlasting. They argued that too.
. Even though the strong's concordance supports that. I was told to get rid of my strong's concordance which I will not. I think the biggest scripture pointing to the fact that we can be saved after 70 A.D. Is in revelation 22;17 16“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star.” 17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Let the one who hears say, “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come, and the one who desires the water of life drink freely. 18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of prophecy in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book What god did was give an invitation for the new covenant of grace that was getting ready to be established. . It was for any one who wanted to have faith in Jesus Christ and be added to the church. Another point I'd like to make is- We all came from Adam. All died because Adam sinned. That means every one could be made a live through the 2nd Adam Jesus Christ. All the nations came from Adam every race. Death in Adam, Life in Christ
…14 Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who did not sin in the way that Adam transgressed. He is a pattern of the One to come. 15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many! 16 Again, the gift is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment that followed one sin brought condemnation, but the gift that followed many trespasses brought justification.… Romans 5:15 I am convinced the majority of IO's Believe there were people before Adam .This is unbiblical. This is taught by people who are into mysticism, magic, spells, and reading the bible with the help of demons. https://www.gotquestions.org/pre-Adamic-race.html My last point is this- IO's believe that Jesus had Jewish bloodline in him, but it was his mother Mary who caused him to be known as a Jew. I recently learned that the blood of a baby comes from NOT the mother but the father only. Now that means that Mary Did not give Jesus any of her blood. That means Jesus Blood was not a special race but the DNA of God. "And I will put enmity between thy seed and her seed ; it shall bruise thy head , and thou shalt bruise his heel" (Gen 3 :15) . As you all know, the 'women's seed ' is our LORD JESUS CHRIST being born of virgin Mary by the over shadowing of the Holy Spirit. A woman Eve was promised that Jesus seed would come from her. A woman does not produce a seed, but a male. .
God put himself in Mary. She was the incubator. If God manifested himself in the flesh as 1st Timothy 3:16 says and came in the LIKNESS of a servant we have a beautiful picture of Jesus the Savior of no bloodline except the Fathers. https://www.babble.com/pregnancy/anatomy-fetus-placenta/ Since Jesus has Gods DNA we know Jesus is of NO special human bloodline.
